The clavichord is the most intimate of all keyboard instruments. With its sweet tone and mysterious vibrato it is well suited to musical reveries and was considered the perfect medium for the ‘empfindsame’ or (over)sensitive cult surrounding Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach.
