The four young Flemish singers of Encantar boast a remarkably well-balanced ensemble sound. So it came as no surprise when the quartet won the public’s prize at the prestigious York Early Music Competition in 2011. Their programme is completely devoted to Mary, with music by Morales, Carpentras and Palestrina alongside anonymous 14th-century repertoire.
